TAMEZIN CLUB COVID PROTOCOL

Your daughter's safety is our priority

Please take some time to read this carefully with your daughter

We are happy to communicate to you that the National Youth Agency (NYA) has confirmed that despite the change to social gathering restrictions by the government the NYA guidance remains the same. This is because Youth Sector Activity is classified as an essential service https://nya.org.uk/guidance/.

We have carried out a Risk Assessment and created a Policy to ensure that activities organised by Tamezin Club are COVID-Secure.

We would like to ask everyone to follow these rules thoroughly so that we can continue to run the club face to face:

       1. To minimise contact we ask all parents to drop their daughters off at the embankment where we
will welcome them into the building.

       2. Tamezin will divide young people into fixed bubbles, with a maximum of 15 young people
(including leaders) per bubble per session.
Bubbles will not join with other bubbles. â€‹Individuals                 should remain in the bubble they are allocated for that day and ideally over repeat attendance, though this             may not be practical in some circumstances.

As the risk of transmission is lower outdoors, activities will take place outdoors as often as possible and when it is safe to do so.

Tamezin encourages young people to arrive only with members of their bubble and to avoid mingling before and after activities with people outside their bubble. Tamezin understands that we have limited control in this regard, but we will brief young people and educate them on social distancing requirements.

Spaces will not be used at the same time by more than one bubble.

Track and Trace

For all activities that last more than fifteen minutes in duration we are required to capture some essential information (Name, contact details, etc) on all leaders and young people in attendance. Therefore, only those that have completed the Tamezin Membership Form will be able to attend activities. This is in order to ensure that we have correct and up-to-date details of everyone who attends activities.

If a case were to be reported to Tamezin, parents of club members in the same Bubble will be informed immediately by email.

If the club becomes aware that a member or a leader has tested positive for coronavirus, the club will contact the local health protection team. The team will carry out a rapid risk assessment to confirm who’s been in close contact with the person, and these people will be asked to self-isolate.

Cleaning and Sanitation (in line with the school’s policy) measures in place

  • Signs and posters to build awareness of good handwashing technique, the need to increase handwashing frequency, avoiding touching your face and coughing and sneezing into a tissue that is binned safely or into your arm if a tissue is not available.

  • Frequent use of hand sanitiser/ washing hands when entering or leaving a room

  • Hand sanitiser will be provided in multiple locations in addition to washrooms.

  • Setting clear use and cleaning guidance for toilets.

  • Enhanced cleaning for busy areas.

  • Hand drying facilities with paper towels.

  • Shared spaces will be deep cleaned thoroughly between use if different bubbles are to use them on the same day (sequentially).

  • Frequent cleaning of work areas and equipment between uses.

  • Frequent cleaning of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly.

  • Clearing workspaces and removing waste and belongings from the work area at the end of a session.

  • Disposable cutlery and plates will be used in all snacks.

  • Routine cleaning steps will be in place for any shared equipment such as sports equipment.

Further mitigating actions include:

  • Keeping the sessions no longer than necessary.

  • Using back-to-back or side-to-side working (rather than face-to-face) whenever possible – primarily in the activity rooms and Oratory.

  • Recommend walking, cycle or drive when travelling

  • Always have a mask with you

  • Keep social distancing as far as possible

Oratory and Sacraments

As far as COVID-19 is concerned, the Oratory is considered as any other activity room in the premises. In fact, it is one of the largest rooms of the building. The Oratory will be continuously open at other times and you will be able to pray keeping social distance.

Sacraments such as Confession will take place in the Confessional but touch points will be cleaned after use.

Do not come to Tamezin if you...

  • are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms

  • are self-isolating as a result of coronavirus symptoms or

  • sharing a household or support bubble with somebody with symptoms

  • are clinically extremely vulnerable and cannot shield during your journey

  • have been advised by the NHS test and trace service that you should self-isolate

Leaders Communications and Training

All leaders and volunteers have been inducted and trained in the new procedures following our risk assessment.
