In order to help the girls acquire an attitude of respect, understanding and service towards others, there are opportunities to contribute to the community in a number of different ways. Some of these have included:

• Visits to the elderly
• Helping in a homework club for young children
• Seasonal Carol singing for the homeless

Tamezin generally encourages young people to volunteer their time whenever they see a need. The most recent scheme that has been promoted is the MV (Millennium Volunteers) This is an initiative of the government that is specifically directed at young people aged between 16 – 24 years old.

The aim of the scheme is to encourage volunteers to have fun, meet new people, learn new skills, build up their CV and still help the community in the process!
